![]() ![]() For this to work, the remote must be in the range of the smart entry system. The parking lights turn off and the doors remain locked. Press and hold the REMOTE START button on the key fob for one second to remotely stop the engine of your Honda Odyssey. A valid key must be inside your vehicle to switch the ignition on and drive your vehicle. The vehicle remains secured when you have remotely started the engine. Once started remotely, the engine will run for 10 minutes and then shut down automatically. Some exterior lights flash six times if the engine starts successfully. Then press and hold the REMOTE START button for a few seconds on the key fob.Press the LOCK button on the key fob of your Odyssey. ![]() You can remotely start your Honda Odyssey by following these simple steps: HOME > Settings > Vehicle > Keyless Access Setup > Remote Start System On/Off Remote start procedure for Odyssey From the infotainment system home screen, select Settings > Vehicle > Keyless Access Setup > Remote Start System On/Off and turn the feature to ON position. The OEM may be the best route for me strictly because of the proximity key, but hopefully my cousin will be able to find out some better information for me soon. Before you can remotely start your Odyssey, you must enable the remote start system in your vehicle. Also, to utilize the alarm functions of the aftermarket system, I would more than likely have to have to use the aftermarket key fob to lock and unlock the car, again defeating the convenience of the proximity key. My cousin is looking into whether the car will unlock when I approach the vehicle and grab the door handle, as it does now, if the van has been remote started (whether oem or aftermarket system). Also, since mine is a '14 I have the proximity key, and the great benefit is not having to remove the keys from my pocket to open or start the car. I have 400 miles on my van so I would hate for an issue to pop up and the dealer try to deny me based on an aftermarket alarm. To be honest, warranty issues are also a concern of mine. I have heard mixed reviews on the range of the OEM unit. that I can enable in winter and disable in summer? Wishful thinking?Īny advice on remote start would be much appreciated. So seats would heat in the summer too! I am hoping there is some undocumented Odyssey setting to to turn on the seats with every start. I am trying to find out if a Viper remote start on my 2013 Odyssey will work the same or if Honda has added further restrictions.Īlso, is there any undocumented way to turn on the seat heaters at every engine start? The remote start dealer can do it via the DBALL2 data bus, but it would be on all year round. With my old 2007 Odyssey and a Viper 3 button remote, I used to be able to start it with the viper FOB (OEM FOB then dead), then unlock with Viper FOB, then after that OEM FOB was fully functional for opening side doors and rear hatch. Confirmed by starting the car with the key, and the FOB buttons then do not do anything. Basically the OEM FOB is dead once the engine starts. You have to put the key in the lock to open the drivers door, then use the dash/arm rest buttons to unlock/open doors. Sounds great! Unfortunately, the draw back is that from then on the OEM FOB is useless. There is a new DBALL2PRO module from Directed that will allow you to remote start with the OEM key FOB by pressing lock 3 times. I have been doing my research on adding a remote starter to our 2013 Odyssey. ![]()
